Maasai Mara Fly-In Prestige Safari
Tour Overview
For our fellow Kenyans looking to escape Nairobi, our Maasai Mara Fly-In Prestige Safari transforms a familiar destination into an extraordinary and seamless weekend retreat.
The camp selection on this itinerary prioritises intimate, conservation-focused properties inside a leading conservancy adjacent to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Here, strict vehicle limits and active habitat protection result in quieter sightings and healthier wildlife. You settle into a spacious tented suite with views across the valley, elevated just enough to catch sunrise light and evening breezes. The atmosphere is premium yet relaxed: fine linen and thoughtful amenities paired with honest safari character and genuine Maasai hospitality.
Game drives take place in the conservancy and, depending on conditions and your interests, in the main reserve. An early start may find you among lions still on the move after a night’s hunt, or watching elephants materialise through morning mist. Afternoon drives often centre around big cats and the drama of predator-prey interaction, while night falls with a chorus of crickets and distant hyenas. Between activities, you have time to swim, enjoy freshly prepared meals, or simply sit and absorb the layered sounds of the bush from the camp deck.
A core feature of this itinerary is meaningful engagement with local Maasai communities. Rather than staged performances, you visit a nearby village that actively partners with the conservancy and learn how land agreements, grazing plans and tourism revenue work together. Your guide introduces you to the realities of life here today: schooling, climate challenges, the balance between tradition and change. You are encouraged to ask questions and reflect on your own role as a guest in this landscape.
Throughout the safari, Expera Adventures quietly handles the logistics: private return flights, seamless transfers, and pre-arranged park and conservancy fees. You travel in comfortable, well-maintained vehicles with guides who know the terrain intimately and are trained to position ethically at sightings. The pace is deliberately unhurried, with enough flexibility to adapt to weather, wildlife movements, and your preferences. Whether you are travelling as a couple, a small group of friends, or a solo guest, the experience can be tailored to focus more on photography, birding, big cats, or simply a restful immersion in wild nature.
This itinerary suits executives adding a short safari to a regional trip, international travellers seeking a high-impact introduction to Kenya, and repeat visitors who value the convenience of flying. It compresses a considerable amount of wildlife, scenic and cultural richness into three days without feeling rushed, largely because the logistics are clean and the distances are short. You leave with the sense of having really been in the Mara, not just passed through: familiar with its light, its sounds, its people, and the conservation stories that will shape its future.
At the end of day three, your flight returns you to Nairobi in time for evening connections or a final night in the city. The memories you carry are of watching elephants at eye level from your tent, sharing fireside stories with your guide, and seeing firsthand how a well-managed conservancy can support both wildlife and community. For Expera Adventures, this is what a premium, practical, conservation-aware safari means: superb comfort, intelligent logistics, and a clear, positive footprint in the landscapes you came to enjoy.
Tour Highlights
Planning your trip from Kenya
This safari is designed for those who value time, comfort, and exclusivity. The experience is centred on a private conservancy bordering the main reserve, which means you enjoy the same incredible wildlife density but without the crowds. Strict limits on vehicle numbers ensure your sightings of lions, elephants, and cheetahs are intimate and unhurried. Your home here is a premium tented suite at an intimate, conservation-led camp, blending top-tier comfort with the authentic character of the bush.
The convenience of flying allows you to maximise every moment. Your days are spent on game drives with an expert local guide in a private 4x4, exploring both the exclusive conservancy and the main reserve. We also facilitate a meaningful visit to a neighbouring Maasai community that is a genuine partner in the conservancy. This isn't a staged performance; it's an open conversation about how modern conservation, tourism, and traditional livelihoods can successfully coexist, a topic of deep relevance for the future of our nation's wild spaces.
This all-inclusive package covers your return flights, all fees, exquisite meals, and guided activities, making it an ideal choice for a special occasion, a high-impact family weekend, or for executives needing a brief but restorative break. It’s an opportunity to rediscover the magic of the Mara through a lens of exclusivity, efficiency, and deep respect for the land and its people, leaving you with a profound connection to this iconic corner of our country.
Visa & Entry
As a Kenyan citizen or resident travelling within the country, no visa is required. You will, however, need to present a valid form of national identification, such as your Kenyan National ID or passport, for the domestic flight check-in at Wilson Airport.
Flights & Connections
Your safari package includes return flights from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport direct to an airstrip inside the Maasai Mara. The flight itself is a scenic journey of about 45 to 60 minutes, saving you the 5-6 hour drive and allowing for maximum time on safari.
Health, Climate & Packing
While you are familiar with the Kenyan climate, remember that the Mara has cold mornings and evenings, so packing a warm fleece or jacket is essential for game drives. Malaria is present, though the risk is relatively low; we advise consulting your local doctor or chemist about prophylaxis. Don't forget a hat and sunscreen for the strong daytime sun.
Money, Time & Culture
We accept payments in Kenyan Shillings (KES) at the prevailing exchange rate, as well as USD. While the safari is all-inclusive, you may wish to bring some cash for staff gratuities or personal purchases. As this is a domestic trip, there is no time difference, and your standard Type G plugs will work fine at the camp.
Citizen & Resident Rates
Special preferential rates are available for Kenyan citizens and East African residents. Please be sure to mention this when you inquire so we can provide the correct pricing.
Connectivity in Camp
While our partner camps offer an escape, they typically have limited Wi-Fi in the main lounge area. Mobile network coverage can be intermittent, allowing you to truly disconnect and immerse yourself in the wilderness.
Tipping Guidance
Tipping is customary for good service at safari camps. We recommend a communal staff tip and a separate tip for your private guide; we can provide suggested amounts upon booking.
Guidance only — confirm visa, entry and health requirements with the official embassy or eVisa portal before you travel.

Fly from Nairobi to the Maasai Mara and begin your safari
In the afternoon, you head out on your first game drive in the conservancy. Vehicle numbers are limited and off-road access is carefully managed, allowing you to spend quality time at sightings rather than rushing from one place to another. Your guide introduces you to the area’s key species and the way the conservancy works with local Maasai landowners. As the sun drops, you may stop for a scenic sundowner drink before returning to camp. After dinner, you can sit by the fire and listen to the night sounds, or retire early ready for the next day’s exploration.
