A deposit of 30% of the total safari cost confirms your booking, with the balance due 30 days before your arrival date. For bookings made within 30 days of travel, full payment is required at the time of booking. We also offer flexible payment plans (“Lipa Polepole”) for advance bookings.

Most nationalities need a visa to visit East Africa. Common options:
• Single-entry visa, valid for one country
• East Africa Tourist Visa, covering Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda (ideal for multi-country safaris)
Visas can usually be obtained online (e-visa) before travel; we recommend applying in advance to avoid delays. We'll provide detailed visa guidance for your nationality and itinerary.

Wildlife viewing is good year-round, but the best time depends on what you want to see:
• June–October: dry season, excellent game viewing, Great Migration in the Masai Mara (July–October)
• January–February: dry, good weather, calving season in the Serengeti
• March–May: long rains, lower prices, lush landscapes, fewer tourists
• November–December: short rains, migratory birds arrive
For gorilla trekking, June–September and December–February are ideal.

We use custom 4x4 safari vehicles built for game viewing:
• Pop-up roofs for 360° viewing
• Large windows for photography
• Maximum 6 passengers, with guaranteed window seats
• Charging ports and a cooler box with complimentary water
• Two-way radio communication
Our vehicles are regularly maintained and carry first-aid kits.

Many of our safaris are family-friendly and we can tailor itineraries for families. We recommend private-vehicle safaris for families with young children. Some lodges set minimum ages (often 5–6 years) for game drives. We can suggest family-friendly accommodations with children's programs and shorter game drives.

While sightings are never guaranteed (these are wild animals), East Africa is one of the best places in the world to see the Big Five:
• Lion — very common in all major parks
• Elephant — abundant throughout the region
• Buffalo — large herds commonly seen
• Leopard — elusive but frequently spotted
• Rhino — best seen in conservancies and protected areas

The Great Migration is the annual movement of over 1.5 million wildebeest, 200,000 zebras and other antelope between Tanzania's Serengeti and Kenya's Masai Mara. Timing varies year to year, but generally:
• January–March: calving in the southern Serengeti
• April–June: movement northward
• July–October: Mara River crossings in Kenya
• November–December: return to Tanzania

• Yellow fever vaccination, if arriving from or through an endemic country

• 60+ days before departure: full refund minus a $100 admin fee
• 30–59 days before: 50% refund

Yes — we understand plans change. Date changes are subject to:
• Availability at accommodations
• Any price differences between dates (high/low season)
• A $50 admin fee per change
